The other day Joel and I were in the office. I had him on his blanket playing with some toys. Hank was by the door staring at Tia chewing on a bone. I heard Joel cooing and "talking" and finally looked down to see him cooing and talking to Hank. He was trying to get his attention. So I called Hank over to lay on the blanket with Joel. Joel laid there "talking" to Hank for about 5 minutes. It was so cute! I snapped a picture to capture the moment. I just wish I had had the video camera near by.
This is a picture of Joel in his "Hank" t-shirt. He's also got a "Tia" sleeper. Thanks to our neighbors Kristin & Danny for both. Oh yeah... and also a big thanks for always taking Hank & Tia for walks. Like us, they love you guys a bunch!

This is Joel's latest favorite toy.

He's figuring out how to hold things and bring them to his mouth. In another picture he's got his tongue sticking out while he's focusing on the toy. He gets that from my dad... whenever you see Pappy trying to figure something out, he's got his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth.

We took a trip to Northern California last week. Joel was a trooper for his first road trip. He didn't cry the entire drive up or back and put up with sleeping in his pack-n-play. He caught a little cold when we got back, has been a little stuffed up and cranky the last few days and today, finally, is back to his normal cheerful self. Below is a picture of our good friends, John and Christina Argo and their 3 week old son (now a month old), Knox. We stayed with them while in Pleasanton. They were wonderful hosts!

2 Month Birthday

So Joel celebrated his 2 month birthday yesterday. It has passed so quickly!!! On Monday he had his 2 month check up at the doctor and received his first set of vaccines. Ouch! He was so sad the rest of the day and didn't want to leave me... just held on to me like a little monkey. Obviously by yesterday he was over it and feeling much better and smiling like crazy!
